Andrew Foster of Seafarer Capital Partners explained to the Wall Street Journal the relationship between emerging markets and value investing.
Foster thinks emerging markets are on the cusp of a change that will fundamentally alter the investment landscape for years to come.
“I’m not saying it’s lollipops and marshmallows in emerging markets, but companies are much better run, governance standards are higher, accounting standards are higher, transparency is much improved, [so] people are paying more attention to unlocking value on the balance sheet. People are paying attention to squeezing more from what they’ve got versus hoping for future growth," said Foster.
