PrivatBank enters the top 25 largest banks in Central & Eastern Europe

PrivatBank retained the leading position in the ranking of the largest banks in Central and Eastern Europe, annually published by the British magazine The Banker .

In the July issue, PrivatBank was the only Ukrainian bank in the ranking and ranked 16th position in the top 25 largest banks in Central and Eastern Europe.

Despite the challenging economic environment, consolidated profit of PrivatBank in 2015 increased by 11.4% and amounted to 275 million USD. According to statements prepared to international standards and confirmed by one of the world's leading auditing companies PWC, capital of PrivatBank banking group in 2015 was 29.045 billion USD, the assets - 247.934 billion USD.

"The current situation in Ukraine this result indicates a stable business model," said Alexander Mirchev, an economist at the International Economics and President (CEO) Krull Corp, a consulting company on macroeconomics in Washington. "At this stage it is important for businesses to demonstrate transparency, thus combining their initiatives with a positive result." 

PrivatBank is the leader of the Ukrainian market. According to market research banking services for individuals conducted by GFK Ukraine in the fourth quarter of 2015, 48,4 per cent pf the total number of Ukrainian banking customers used PrivatBank services. More than a third of the Ukrainian respondents (39.2 per cent) considered PrivatBank their major bank. Additionally, the research indicated that 42.6 per cent of Ukrainian corporations use the PrivatBank‘s services.
