Margolis: Brazil needs jobs, not apologies

In a recent Bloomberg View piece, Mac Margolis, author of "The Last New World: The Conquest of the Amazon Frontier," argues that Brazilians need economic opportunity rather than rhetoric.

Recently, Brazil's engineering and construction company Construtora Andrade Gutierrez SA published an open apology to the Brazilian people for its recent involvement in the massive fraud scheme involving Petrobras.

The public written apology has been used to great success in recent years in Brazil and Latin America as a whole. But, Margolis argues, the Brazilian people are more concerned with their country's future rather than the contrite words crafted by executives.
