Baskin: Emerging Markets are innovation crucibles

According to Jonathan Salem Baskin, a Forbes contributor and President of Arcadia Communications Lab, emerging markets are the crux of innovation in the world today.

The environment is due to the challenges and unpredictable competition emerging markets face and adapt to every day, especially in regards to telecommunications.

Referring to business activities in emerging markets like Pakistan, Uzbekistan, Georgia, and Algeria, Yogesh Malik, VimpelCom's CTO, said, "“If we make something work in an emerging market, it’s going to be a low-cost, low-price, potentially disruptive tool than we would see in a developed one, by definition."
