Emerging Markets receive surprise boost

Emerging markets have been boosted recently by a wave of interest-rate cuts to extend gains made by stock and bond markets.

Central banks in India, Indonesia, Turkey, Hungary, and Taiwan have all lowered rates to boost economic growth.

More developing nations are expected to follow suit in the coming months, according to analysts, which will only add to the 6.6 per cent gain made by the MSCI Emerging Markets Stock Index so far this year.
