General Motors to stop producing cars without airbags for Emerging Markets

General Motors (GM) has announced it will no longer produce cars without airbags and other safety features for emerging markets beginning in 2019.

A recent round of failed crash tests in Latin America by the Chevrolet Sail subcompact car prompted the change in policy.

Several other Chevrolet models have received "zero" stars on the Latin New Car Assessment Program as well as other large, American car brands.
